Dorothy E. Fifield, 89, of Livingston, passed away early Friday morning, May 7, 2010 at Village Health Care in Missoula.

Dorothy was born on December 16, 1920, in Bozeman, the daughter of Victor and Georgia (Schwietering) Adams. As a young girl she lived with her family on their homestead in upper Gallatin Canyon. Dorothy attended Bozeman area schools. On September 6, 1947, she married Joseph C. Fifield in Butte. The couple made their home in Livingston, where her husband worked for the railroad. Mr. Fifield died in October of 1981.

Dorothy was a homemaker and devoted wife and mother. She was a member of the Women of the Moose and Auxiliaries of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the American Legion. She loved flowers, enjoyed gardening, playing cards, singing and dancing. She greatly loved nature and the out-of-doors, Yellowstone Park being one of her favorite places. Dorothy also loved people and enjoyed telling stories.

Survivors include, one daughter, one son, two grandsons, one brother and one sister along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Georgia (Schwietering) Adams and her husband, Joseph C. Fifield.

Cremation has taken place in Missoula. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, at the Franzen Davis Funeral Home in Livingston, with the Rev. Harlan Durgan of Livingston Congregational Church officiating.

Recorded musical selections included "Moon River," "Beyond the Sunset" and "I'll Fly Away."

Pall-bearers were Charles Fifield, David Polich, NIck Polich and Doug Domke.

Graveside committal and burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
