ANOTHER PIONEER GONE

Mrs. Isaac Taylor Ages 76 Died Sunday Night.

Mrs. Sarah Taylor, wife of Isaac Taylor, departed this life at her home just west of the standpipe on Sunday night, the 20th, at 10 o’clock, aged 76 years. The deceased had been sick about three months from a complication of diseases resulting from old age. The funeral was held on Wednesday at ten o’clock, from the house, Rev. Barlow officiating and the remains were interred in the Caro cemetery.

The maiden name of the deceased was Sarah Knight, and she was born in Ireland, but came to this country when eight years of age, with her parents, first locating in Canada, where she was married to Isaac Taylor, removing from there to Niagara county, from which place they removed to Caro twenty years ago, locating on the farm where she died.

Aside from the aged husband, she leaves a large family of children. Fourteen children were born to them, ten of whom are now living, the oldest being 58, and the youngest, B.K. Taylor, of this place, 29. The others are Thos. M., of Atlanta, Ga.; Mrs. Lucy Cottrell, of Orleans; W.C., of Niagara County, N.Y.; W.H., of Montana; J.F., of Sault Ste. Marie; Mrs. S.A. Craig, of Gilford; Mrs. W.B. Sample, of Oakland, Cal.; C.L. Taylor, of Healdsburg, Cal.; Mrs. W. Quaintock, of Karmater, India, where she has been a missionary there and in England for the past 14 years. She was here visiting her parents about seven years ago.

Mrs. Taylor was a most estimable lady, and it is said of her thoughtfulness that she never let a birthday of her children or grandchildren go by without sending them some remembrance.
