Harry Lloyd Mather
On Sunday, Jan. 27, 1952, the late Harry Lloyd Mather passed away in his 76th year. He was The only son of Thaddeus Mather and his wife, Bella Rodger. Some other children died in early childhood. He was married to Mrs. Crawford Dodds (nee Gladys Morris) and unto them were granted five daughters, June, Margaret, Audrey, Marlene and Janet, Gerald, a step-son, also Norman, who mourn his demise. On Monday evening Jan. 30th, the Masonic brethren of Lanark Village met at his late home and conducted a service with the bereaved family. On Tuesday afternoon, the funeral service was held in the United Church. The pastor, Rev. W.D. Reid, left a comforting message with those in sorrow. The pallbearers were Wm. and Lome Somerville, Arthur Blackburn, Ed. Rodger, Lionel Barr and Harry M. Mather. Flower bearers were Ellis Mather, Ernest Liddle, Stanley Rodger, David Blackburn and Jas. Dodds. Among the floral tokens were a spray in the emblem of the Masonic Order, also a spray from the school children of S.S. No. 6. Sympathy of the community is with the widow and the family.
