Allen Dale Pendleton, 74, of Dogwood Lane, Orange, Va. died on Monday, August 14, 2017, at the Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital, Charlottesville. Born on March 22, 1943, in Charlottesville, he was the son of the late Harry Monroe Pendleton Sr. and Ray Lee Smith Pendleton Mundy; he was also predeceased by his brother, Harry M. Pendleton Jr.

He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Orange, where he was faithful to welcome everyone with a handshake and a smile. In addition to his church fellowship, he enjoyed his friends and the activities of the Young at Heart Club and the Orange Senior Site.

He is survived by two sisters, Linda Bell and husband, Robert of Orange and Tina Morris and husband, Stewart of Orange; two aunts, Bertha Krise of Orange and Ann Gilliland of Birmingham, Alabama; two uncles, Grant Pendleton of Stephens City and Walter Pendleton of Richmond; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2017, at 2 p.m. at the Graham Cemetery, Orange. The Rev. Carmon Hartsfield will officiate. Preddy Funeral Home of Orange is assisting the family.
