A graveside service celebrating the life of Karen Kay Krivohlavek- McDermott will be 3:00 p.m., today, at the Chelsea City Cemetery, under the direction of DeLozier Funeral Service. Visitation will be 3-6, Wednesday, at the funeral home. Karen passed away, Sunday, May 8, 2016. She was 57.
Born in Oklahoma City, OK on September 4, 1958, Karen was the daughter of Carl and Juna (Fry) Krivohlavek. On March 27, 1997 she married the love of her life, Owen McDermott in a Miami, OK ceremony. After their marriage the couple resided in several states before moving back to Oklahoma and making Tulsa their home for the last eleven years.
Karen had a gift of being able to take care of others and it was through her 35 year career as a CNA she was able to utilize that gift. When not working, Karen enjoyed relaxing and just spending time with her family and friends. Her family said she also enjoyed sneaking out to the Casino or to play bingo. Karen had a love for animals and will be missed by her pets Gizmo, Trixie, and Peanut.
This wife, mother, and friend will be missed by all whose lives she touched. Karen is survived by her husband Owen, daughters, Allison Kaylea Pinkston, Alicia Kay Thompson and husband J.T., Amanda Lea Cochran and husband David, brother, Dennis Krivohlavek and wife Cindy, sister, Pam Carter and husband Billy. Karen was preceded in death by her parents, grandmother Fry, and grandmother Krivohlavek.
