Stephen was a Sgt in the US Marine Corps Korea and stationed in Lakehurst NJ . He married Lois Nicholson (from Toms River NJ) in 1953. Stephen died of cancer in 2001 and was buried at St Patricks Catholic Cemetery in Mauston.

Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Lois; four children, Judy A. (Jim) Schultz-Mohr of Madison, Jennifer A. Lichter of Bristol, Paul C. Schultz of Madison and Meredith E. Schultz of Oregon; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two sisters, Lois A. Dahl of Clearwater, Fla., and Mary Lou Holmes of Los Angeles.
He was preceded in death by his sons, Stephen F. Schultz in 1982 and Andrew R. Schultz in 1990.
