Carlyn Achenbach, 92, of Anamosa, Iowa, passed away following a brief illness, Sunday, January 28, 2018 at the Donna and Dennis Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy.
In accordance to her wishes a private service for immediate family will be held.
Carlyn Ida Mae Achenbach was born June 5, 1925 in Anamosa, Iowa. She was the daughter of Carl and Elizabeth Michels Barnes. Carlyn was a 1943 graduate of Anamosa High School.
On June 6, 1946 she was united in marriage to Arden Achenbach in Anamosa.
Carlyn was a homemaker and helped Arden with his livestock trucking business. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Survivors include three sons: Gary (Jean) Achenbach of Boone, Carl (Mary) Achenbach of Anamosa, and Randy (Rhonda) Achenbach of Marion; seven grandchildren, Brent (Julie) Achenbach, Sara Achenbach, Brian Achenbach, Christine (Joel) Miller, Daniel (Andrea) Achenbach, Rochelle Achenbach, and Reed (Autumn) Achenbach; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Carlyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arden, in 2004; granddaughter, Julie Achenbach; brother, Merlin Barnes and a sister, Mildred Behrens.
