Herbert J. Bauer Jr., 74, of Pine, died Monday, June 21, 2004 at UPMC Passavant. He was born on March 4, 1930, in Allison Park, to the late Herbert and Mildred (Dauer) Bauer Sr. Herbert was also preceded in death by his daughter Debra Bauer Seman and granddaughter Christin Bauer. Herbert served his country during the Korean War with the Marine Corps and was a member of the West View VFW Post 2754 and the Mars Rod and Gun Club. Beloved husband of 52 years to Dorothy (Ward) Bauer. Survivors include son Robert J. Bauer of Petrolia, sister Doris Hartwell of Allison Park, and two grandchildren, Thomas Seman Jr. and Jennifer Matthews. Also survived by loving nieces and nephews. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the SCHELLHAAS FUNERAL HOME LTD., 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown, Richland, where services will be at 1 p.m. Friday with Rev. Vernon C. Borchert officiating. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association, 10 Duff Road, Suite 304, Pittsburgh, PA 15235-3207
