The aircraft took off at 23:34 From Snaith and was later shot down by night fighter ( Lt Hans - Heinz Augenstein lll/NJG1 ) F/O Trott is buried in Reichswald Forest war cemetery suggesting he escaped from the Aircraft earlier or survived the accident only to die of his injuries later. The others are buried in Weerselo Rossum Roman Catholic Cemetery.
