Ann Joyce Brediger, age 85, of the Wesley Pines Community in Lumberton, passed away on October 21, 2018 at Wesley Pines.

She was born on December 28, 1932 in Covington, KY. She was a 1950 graduate of Roosevelt High School in Seattle, WA. Upon graduation, she relocated to San Diego, CA where she was “picked up by a sailor,” who was to become her husband for the next sixty years. They moved to Brewer, OH where her husband practiced dentistry for forty-two years before retiring to North Carolina.

Mrs. Brediger was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Robert D. Brediger; her parents, Eugene I. Winterberg and Dorothy J. Winterberg; one sister, Mary Virginia Smith; and two brothers, James R. Winterberg and Eugene M. Winterberg.

She is survived by two sisters, Marilyn Colley of Seattle, WA and Genevieve James of Las Vegas, NV, as well as her daughter, Kathleen Hansen of Lumberton; two sons, James R. (Charlotte) Brediger and Michael W. (Patti) Brediger, all of Cartersville, GA; five granddaughters, Rebecca, Kayla and Nikki Hansen, Jessica Heckel and Jaime Brediger. She also is survived by three great-grandchildren, Brantley and Elijah Heckel and Braelyn Husky.

A memorial service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church in Lumberton and celebrated by Rev. Gene Wayman. The entombment service will follow in the church columbarium.
