Suicide Note Starts Hunt for Missouri City Woman.
Clay County officers were searching the Missouri River yesterday for the body of Mrs. Lottie McGregor, 46 years old, of Missouri City, wife of J. B McGregor, a mine labor leader, in the belief she had committed suicide. William Albertson, a special officer for the Wabash railroad, reported to the sheriff’s office at Liberty Mo, he had found clothing belonging to Mrs. McGregor and a note written by her on the banks of the river near Missouri City. The note, Albertson said, asked that Mrs. McGregor's children be cared for. The children are Miss Margarite McGregor, 24 years old; Harry McGregor, 22; Jennie McGregor, 17, and Luck McGregor, 8, all of the home at Missouri City. Mr. McGregor said he missed his wife from home Sunday night. He could give no reason why she would commit suicide. Footprints were found near the river banks, Albertson said.
