Her parents were Homer Callyhill English (30 March 1908 – 3 January 1929) and Helen Clarabelle Turner (2 April 1909 – 1 December 1984).


Anna Jeanine "Jean" Adams, 88, of Roanoke, VA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Raleigh Court Health & Rehabilitation where she resided for the past four years. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister; husband, Jack Adams; and son, Jim Atkins. Left to cherish her memories is her son, Dean Bandy and his wife, Robin and her beloved grandchildren; Dylan and Irina Bandy; and her special cousin, Marie Ferguson (Jessie).

Jean was born in Michigan and later moved to Rocky Mount, Virginia. She was a graduate of Franklin County High School. She was a hairdresser for more than 30 years. She loved cats, being in the sun, the beach, traveling and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.


Jean will be laid to rest at Evergreen Burial Park in a private ceremony. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Roanoke Valley SPCA, 1340 Baldwin Avenue NE, Roanoke, VA, 24012.
