DAPHNE — “Dot” Abercrombie Jackson, 92, formerly of Russellville, passed away Oct. 15, 2017, in Daphne, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her husband, James O. (Jim) Jackson, and great-granddaughter, Leighton Harrell.

She is survived by four daughters, Lyn Assunto (Pat), of Katy, Texas, Connie Rice (Bob), of Daphne, Alabama, Deborah Bullard (Wayne), of Foley, Alabama, and Jann Fowler (Sam), of Auburn, Alabama; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, T. Z. Abercrombie, of Gray, Georgia.

Dot passed away peacefully with her family by her side. The world has lost a most unique and charming woman, gentle yet fiercely strong for those lucky enough to call her wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Alongside her husband, Jim, Dot was the driving force behind a successful business, the raising of four independent and strong daughters, and a marriage most anyone would envy. May we all find our Shorty one day, and may she find hers again.

A private service was held.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Organization at alz.org. Arrangements are by Hughes Funeral Home and Crematory in Daphne, Alabama.
