Nancy was a devoted wife, partner, confidant and friend to her loving husband, Lee Atkinson of Hudson, Florida; and a supportive loving mother to daughters, Kim Franz (Phil) of Macomb, Michigan and Kerri Harmon (Darwin) of Crofton, Kentucky; and son, Kellee Atkinson (companion Lisa) of Valparaiso, Indiana. She was the proud grandmother to three grandsons, Jeffrey Pendland (Annie) of Oviedo, Florida, Robert Franz of Macomb, Michigan and Daniel Deren of Crofton, Kentucky; along with three adored grandpups, Casey, Willie and Nelson.
Her roots were in Green Cove Springs where she is survived by two sisters, Vonnie Hawks and Carlene Hilton; and a brother, Stephan Knowles (Linda). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews in Florida, Arizona and Indiana. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents James and Agnes Knowles; sister Dena Emerson, brother James (Jake) Knowles, niece Dottie Catania and great-niece Agina Catania.
Nancy loved entertaining family and friends, baking, quilting, gardening and traveling to visit her children, grandchildren and extended family. She was an extremely generous soul who never met a stranger. Nancy was loved by many and will be missed and remembered by all that had the honor of knowing her.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the Living Waters Church, 1104 Idlewild Avenue, Green Cove Springs, Florida. Memorial contributions can be made to Shriners Hospital or Friends of Foster Kids.org.
