Decatur Herald, October 26, 1928Mrs. Ellis (Alice) Short Mrs. Ellis (Alice) Short died in a hospital in Jacksonville early Thursday morning. She had been in failing health for about two years and was in a Decatur hospital for three months before going to the Jacksonville institution last summer. She suffered from complications of diseases.She was born in Oconee, November 30, 1865 and lived in Decatur since 1909. She leaves her husband, Joseph Short, of Decatur and four children. Mrs. Harry Sayles, Roland Short, both of Decatur, Lula Short of Chicago, and Marie Short of Detroit.She also leaves one brother, Ray Wilmot, one sister, Mrs. Mattie Johnson both of Decatur and six grandchildren.She was a member of the Presbyterian church.The body will be brought to Decatur and will be taken in the Moran & Sons funeral home Thursday afternoon. Definite arrangements will be made later.
