William Wesley Hamiter, 67, died at his home Monday evening March 24, 1941. His death was ascribed to a heart attack. He had lived in Motley County since 1923 and had made his house in Matador for the past six years.
He was born in Bossier Parrish, Louisiana on November 19, 1873 and his age was 67 years, 4 months and 5 days. He married Annie Moore in Smithville, Oklahoma February 26, 1905. He and Annie had ten children.
William was survived by his wife Annie; his children: Mrs. Mary Turner (Arkansas), Mrs. Maggie Thomas (California), Mrs. Nettie Oden (Colorado), Mrs. Delphia Graves (Colorado), John Hamiter (Wichita Falls), Haskell Hamiter (Fort Lewis, WA); Connally, Eula & Georgia Hamiter (all of Matador) and two brothers J.W. Hamiter (Port Arthur) and R.M. Hamiter (Cove, AR)
Funeral services were held at the home at 3:15pm Tuesday, March 25, 1941 and internment followed at the East Mound Cemetery in Matador.
