A native of Buncombe County, Sam was the son of the late Dr. Eugene and Josephine Bolinger. Surviving Sam are his wife of 36 years, Debra Pierson Bolinger; children, Haley of Orlando, FL, and Sammy of Marion; as well as a brother, Dr. Woody Bolinger, and wife Ann of Weaverville, NC. Sam was a graduate of Gardner-Webb University where he received a BS in Business Administration. He was employed by Gotham Technologies.
