OLD SETTLERS' REUNION
An Enjoyable Gathering of Early Settlers at Grove Park Saturday.
J. B. Pumroy, of Brooks, was present at the reunion. Mr. Pumroy has enjoyed the distinction of being the tallest man in Adams county probably ever since he came here in 1854. He is slightly stooped with age now, but when straightened up to his full stature he informs us he measured six feet, nine and three-quarters inches. Mr. Pumroy was a very powerful man in his youth. He jokingly remarked to a friend on the ground that he did not believe he would care to cut over a cord of wood a day at his present age.
