Daniel was a civilian pilot for Central Airlines. His jet crashed on take off in an empty lot in Grand Prairie, Texas. Information is from his death certificate.

Daniel, 24, and Dr. Roger Alfred Jutras were killed when their T33 trainer plane crashed while on takeoff. Jutras was a captain and unit flight surgeon in the Air National Guard.

From an article in The Irving Daily News Texan, pg 1, titled "Irving Man Dies In Hensley Crash", dated Apr 11, 1963:

..."Co-pilot Daniel M. Jacoby of Dallas also died in the crash which occurred shortly before 3pm.

Jutras and Jacoby were enroute for the Olathe (Kan.) Air Station when the T-33 trainer plane went down before it had even cleared the Hensley Field grounds.

Witnesses said the plane crashed and burst into flames before it ever got airborne. According to United Press International, the plane was only 100 yards beyond the runway when it plunged to earth. Electrified onlookers said the jet crashed just before it would have cleared the south fence at Hensley, bounced back into the air, rammed through the fence and ploughed across Jefferson Street which parallels US Highway 80.

The plane came to rest in an open field south of the Texas and Pacific railroad tracks just behind a lumber company.

...Jacoby was not married and was a civilian pilot for Central Airlines."...
