Mr. Boyd was employed by BellSouth. He previously worked for Mississippi Power & Light for over ten years. He was an umpire in local Dixie Youth leagues. He enjoyed playing golf. He and his wife were licensed foster parents and opened their home to many children.

He was survived by his wife, Judy Love Boyd of McComb; two sons, Joey Boyd of McComb and Jesse Boyd of Jackson; one daughter, Erin Boyd of McComb; his mother, Gloria Anderson Boyd of McComb; two brothers, Terry Boyd and wife Marion of Chicago, IL, and Michael Boyd of Kodiak, AK; one sister, Laura Timmons and husband Michael of McComb; 2 grandchildren, 6 nieces and 5 nephews.
