1904
Harvey Akin Jones marries Minnie Alta Mason in DeWitt County, IL. The exact date is unknown. From this marriage was born one daughter, Velma M. Jones, in DeWitt County, Illinois, in 1905. Unfortunately, this marriage did not last and they divorced sometime between 1905 and when Harvey remarried.

1909
Harvey Akin Jones married Ella Jones (no previous relation) 21 Oct 1909 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. It is believed they had both grown up in the same area of DeWitt County and it was very likely they had known each other since childhood.

Harvey and Ella had no children of their own throughout their marriage, which lasted just short of 39 years until Harvey's death in 1948.

But in their life together, they moved to Canada, settling first in the Lajord, Saskatchewan area, then Regina, Saskatchewan, and finally in Tisdale, Saskatchewan, where Harvey resided until his passing. After Harvey's passing in 1948, Ella moved to be near her sister in Long Beach, California.

It is not known how close Harvey was to his daughter, though it is known that he made numerous trips back to Illinois over his lifetime to visit friends and relatives, and even once his daughter Velma moved to the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area, it would not have been any more difficult for him to visit her there on his trips south. And they may very well have kept in contact by mail. To date no letters have been found (but not everyone saves letters after they've read them) nor have any mentions in newspaper clippings about him visiting her specifically been located either. But that can be said for almost any relative from the past. That is likely a question with an answer that has been lost to time.
