Guinea Operation and Cape Gloucester NB. After a six month absence from combat, Reese took part in the invasion of the Island of Peleliu beginning on September 15, 1944. Reese suffered a shot to the head on September 27, 1944 and died from the injury. He was survived by his mother, father, five brothers and three sisters. He was not married and did not have any children. He was only 21. i was his grandnieve.
