Robert Clinton Anderson was born on February 15, 1932, in Sherman, Texas, to the late Noel (Buddy) and Irene Meitzen Anderson. Bob grew up in Sherman and in August of 1947, at the age of 15, he received the Eagle Scout Honor Award after being a scout since 1944. After graduation from Sherman High School in 1949, he attended Texas A&M University where he was a member of the "A" Ordinance, and had the honor of graduating from the university twice. The first time was in 1954 with a BS in Geological Engineering and the second time was in 1957 with a BS in Petroleum Engineering.
After graduating the first time, Bob was called to active duty with the U.S. Army in the fall of 1954. After basic training at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland, Bob was scheduled to be an instructor; however, he wanted an overseas assignment and volunteered for Korea. He spent the next year and a half on the DMZ with the Seventh Infantry Division, 17th Infantry Regiment as a First Lieutenant. After returning to the States, he was assigned to Ft. Hood, Texas, to be mustered out. While there, he met his future wife, Frankie Franklin of Temple, Texas, on a blind date.
Bob received his second degree from A&M in May 1957, and he and Frankie were married on June 10, 1957. Shortly thereafter, Bob joined the Gulf Oil Corporation in Odessa, Texas, where his and Frankie's only daughter, Teresa, was born. They eventually moved to Crane, Texas, where they lived until 1978, before Bob was promoted to Area Manager and the family relocated to Hobbs, New Mexico, where Bob was over fives states.
Following Gulf's merger with Chevron, Bob was named District Manager for New Mexico and West Texas, and served as President of the Hobbs Chamber of Commerce. He was named Vice President of the New Mexico Oil and Gas Association, and also served on the Governor's Oil and Gas Committee for four years. Bob retired from Chevron after 35 years of service, and enjoyed his retirement years in Midland, near his family doing the things he loved - -hunting, fishing, playing golf and taking his family on Disney vacations.
In 2011, he and Frankie relocated to Rockwall to be near their daughter and grandson and new granddaughter-in-law, where he was a member of Lakepointe Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, N.B. and Irene Anderson; loving wife, Frankie Anderson; and beloved little brother, Dr. Jerry Anderson.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Teresa Lovett ; grandson, Scotty Lovett and wife, Stephenie; granddaughter, Whitney Shin and husband, Jay; great-granddaughter, Audrey Lovett; and numerous nieces and nephews.
