Suddenly collapsed and died at home whilst preparing to go to work at Coventry where he was employed by ICI only the month before he had received an inscribed watch for completing 20 years service. He was a native of Stourbridge but made his home at Kenilworth in 1917 while he was in the army. Ardent supporter of Rangers FC and of cricket. His funeral was at St Johns Church, Kenilworth. He leaves a widow, 2 daughters and 5 grandchildren
