Mr. Sowell was born in Greenleaf, MS, and resided most of his life in Olive Branch. He was a member of Cedarview Baptist Church. Mr. Sowell was on the cemetery committee at Lebanon Cemetery. He loved spending time working on his farm raising his cows, and working in his shop building cabinets. He also enjoyed welding and building armored cars. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and loved spending time with his family and many friends.
Mr. Sowell is survived by his daughter, Sara Lynn (Ray) Stone of Olive Branch; son, Terry Ray (Barbara) Sowell, of Olive Branch; three granddaughters, four grandsons, and seven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Sowell was preceded in death by his wife Sara Sisk Sowell; parents, Ira and Beulah Sowell; four brothers and eight sisters.
