Glenn Clarence Householder, son of Clarence Ellsworth and Margaret Catherine Lee (McGowan) Householder was born on August 3, 1915, on a farm in the Lone Rock, Iowa area.

Glenn attended school in Lone Rock, graduating in 1933, and then attended Business College in Des Moines, Iowa. Glenn married Relzine Lorraine Pettit on April 14, 1935, at Fairmont, Minnesota. The couple lived in the Lone Rock area, following their marriage. Glenn was engaged in trucking all his life and was also affiliated with Pioneer Seed Corn for forty years.

While in high school, Glenn was employed by his brother Calvin driving a truck to New York hauling poultry and eggs. He later purchased his own truck and acquired many trucks to be called the Householder Truck Line.

The Householder family purchased the Long Bay Resort, on Ten Mile Lake near Hackensack, Minnesota and spent their summers working and enjoying the time spent there. They enjoyed fishing, skiing and hauling lumber cut from the forest. Glenn also enjoyed playing cribbage, gin rummy as well as checkers. He was known for his sense of humor and the twinkle in his eye. He was a friend to everyone he met.

Glenn died on Thursday, June 1, 2006, en route from Mercy Health Care in Mason City, Iowa to the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona. He was 90.

Survivors include his children; Darryl and wife Doris of Fenton, IA; Garryl (Louie) and wife Patricia of Algona, IA; Ellwyn (Butch) and wife Dorothy of Lone Rock, IA; Larry and wife Bev of Lone Rock, IA; Carol Anglen of Omaha, NE. and Gloria Schmitt of Myrtle Beach, SC. Also surviving is a nephew Dennis Howe of Whittemore, IA who Glenn and Relzine raised from childhood as well as 18 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, one sister Lillian Riedel of Estherville, IA and one brother William (Little Bill) Householder of Spencer, IA. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, three wives, Relzine, Gloria (Tucker), Zella (Wolfe-Guderin), special friend Lucy Rested, brothers and sisters, Calvin (Buck), Everett (Toots), Florence, Ruth, Margaret (Bett), Lora Belle (Tine), three grandchildren, Daniel Householder, David Householder and Duane Householder, and two great grandchildren, Amanda Morris and Jacob Aaron Witte.
