Rita E. Adams (nee Vogler) was born in Wheeling, WV, the 4th of 5 children, and she entered the USMC during WWII, being stationed first in Arlington, VA, and later in Oahu, Hawaii after Pearl Harbor. She met her future husband, TSgt Robert E. Adams there, and they were married in 1945. They settled in Michigan and raised a family, during which time Rita became a schoolteacher and a COTA. She volunteered, loved music, was active in the community, and walked out in the fresh air every day up until her death. Her final resting place is in Arlington National Cemetery, where she received military honors on 18 Sep 2023, in the presence of four generations of her family. She is inurned with her husband, Robert E. Adams. Her faith-filled life was a full one, and she will be dearly missed.
