News of his death was published in the Moncton (New Brunswick) Times-Transcript of July 26, 1916. He died in hospital in Denver; surviving him were seven children, his mother, two sisters and a brother (father Bowen had died in 1908 in the Yukon, and Arthur was named as a survivor).
