"In 2023, we take a look back at Hopkinton's revolutionary past as the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum placed a commemorative monument to honor Hopkinton resident John Dickman, who is interred at the Evergreen Cemetery in Woodville. This is part of a project to place these markers at the gravesides of all known participants in the Boston Tea Party ahead of the 250th anniversary of the event this December.

John Dickman was a participant in the Boston Tea Party and a veteran of the colonial militia before fighting with revolutionary forces to disrupt British supply lines and preventing the support of loyalists from getting to British forces. He was able to come back and settle at his farm in Hopkinton until his passing in 1833."
