David E. Sloan, age 81, of Richmond, Indiana, died Monday, April 15, 2024, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born March 17, 1943, in Bellefontaine, Ohio, to Wallace Edward and Beverly Jayne Brown Sloan.
He was a graduate of Bellefontaine High School and attended 4 years of college. David retired as a Master Sargeant for the U. S. Army after 23 years of service. He served in Vietnam and Germany. David was a member of the Richmond VFW Post #1108. He was also a HAM Radio operator with the call sign N0EOP.
Survivors include his daughter, Christina Bosser, of Tacoma, Washington; son, Donald E. Sloan, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; grandchildren, Emilio Bosser, Jaden Bosser, Carlyne Bosser, Sebastian Sloan, Christian Sloan and Simon Law; wife, Charlyne Garrison Sloan; sister, Marcia Sloan; cousins; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Leslie Eugene Sloan.
Visitation for David E. Sloan was from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April, 20, 2024, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with military honors provided by the Wayne County Honor Guard.
