FARR, Aletha (Dwyer), 83, Sydney Cape Breton Post, Friday, March 1, 2002
Aletha Farr, 83, Xavier Drive, formerly of Prince Street, Sydney, wife of the late Arthur Roland Farr, passed away at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, Wednesday, February 27, 2002. Born in Bay Roberts, Nfld., she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Ethel Mae (Mercer) Dwyer. She was a member of the Salvation Army. Aletha was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are her daughters, Mae (Gorden) Sparkes, Betty (Gerry) Giusti, Sandra (Stephen) Wells, Marie Farr, Christine (Kenny) Redquest, and Heather Hanna, all of Sydney and Shirley (Wayne) Moore , Lower Sackville, N.S.; sons, George (Jessie), Lower Sackville, Roland (Sandra) and Gordon (Judy), Sydney; daughters-in-law, Joanne and Cecilia; 34 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, Arthur Roland, Aletha was predeceased by sons, John and Tom; six sisters and two brothers. Visitation will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel today (Friday) 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the Salvation Army Citadel, Whitney Pier, Saturday 10 a.m., with Captain Morris Vincent and Wanda Vincent officiating. Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
