Mr. Billy Wayne Smith, of Ephesus, Georgia, passed away on April 1, 2010, at his residence. He was 73.


Mr. Smith was born on August 10, 1936, in Heard County, Georgia, to the late Jim and Maudie Mitchell Smith.


He was the owner and operator of Billy Smith's Auto Parts in Ephesus, Georgia and was of the Baptist faith.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Robert Wayne "Butch" Smith; his brother, John Smith; and his sisters, Janice Dollar, Mildred Cox, and Brooksie Richardson.


Survivors include his wife, Genevia Ann Smith; his sister, Louise Wellington (sic) of Bowdon, GA; his grandchildren, Charles Wayne Smith, Jinnie Cook, and Scott Johnson; and his 4 great-grandchildren.


Funeral services for Mr. Billy Smith will be held on Monday, April 5, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Rainwater Funeral Home. Bro. Fred Cook will officiate.


Floyd McKee, Barry McKee, Floyd Wood, Jimmy Johnson, Doyle Phillips, and Scott Johnson will serve as pallbearers.


Interment will follow in Red Oak Cemetery.


The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, April 4th from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m.
