Actor. Born into a prominent theatrical family, the son of actor John Carradine and actress Sonia Sorel, he began his career as a leading man on the stage in little theatres and stock companies. While performing in a quartet, he was introduced to actor John Wayne who got him a role in "The Cowboys" (1972). He would go on to appear in over 130 features such as "Mean Streets" (1973), "You and Me" (1974), "Aloha Bobby and Rose" (1975), "Jackson County Jail" (1976), "Orca" (1977), "Coming Home" (1978), "Blackout" (1978), "The Long Riders" (1980), "The Big Red One" (1980), "Heartaches" (1981), "Wavelength" (1982), "Revenge of the Nerds" (1984), "Revenge of the Nerds II: Nerds in Paradise" (1987), "Buy & Cell" (1988), "Rude Awakening" (1989), "Revenge of the Nerds III: The Next Generation" (1992), "The Tommyknockers" (1993), "Revenge of the Nerds IV: Nerds in Love" (1994), "Bird of Prey" (1995), "Escape from L.A." During his career, he recorded several audiobooks, was an independent musician, was a 1998 recipient of the Golden Boot Award. He was married to actress Edie Mani from 1990 to 2018, their union ended in divorce and produced three children, including Ever Carradine. While appearing in what would be his final role in "Sorority Shark Attack" (2026), Carradine, who suffered from bipolar disorder, died by suicide.
