Mrs Decatur Bowen, who came to Burt county in 1883, died February 3 at Hastings, Iowa, where since 1917 she had been living with a son. The body was sent here for burial. Services were to have been held in the Grace church in the country last Sunday, but on account of the severe weather, they were held instead at F G Palmquist undertaking parlors on Monday; Rev R Swenson officiating.
Deceased was born at Crawfordsville, Ind, September 29, 1937, so that she was 83 year, 4 months, and 5 days old. In 1853 he was united in marriage to Decatur Bowen , and to them four children were born. Two of them survive, together with eight grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren.

Mrs Mary Bowen, who has been with her son, Samuel Bowen of Hastings, for several years past, died last Thursday from heart trouble. She was about 75 years old and was the widow of Decatur Bowen, an early resident of Hastings Vicinity. She had lived many years in Nebraska.
Her body was taken on Saturday morning to Oakland, Neb, for burial as her husband lied buried there. Her grandson, Roy Bowen, came and accompanied the body to Oakland.

Mrs Mary E Bowen, the aged mother of Samuel Bowen passed away at the home of the latter in North Grove, Thursday, February 3, at the age of 83 years, 4 months and 4 days. The remains were taken to her former home at Oakland, Nebraska, Saturday morning on No 5 and the funeral held there on Sunday. She was laid to rest beside her husband, the late Decatur Bowen.
