Actor. Born Peter John Helm, Jr., he entered show business early, debuting on television in 1959, before appearing on Broadway in "There Was a Little Girl" with Jane Fonda the following year. He became a familiar face in American TV dramas and westerns, appearing in such series as, "Rawhide," "Wagon Train," "The Fugitive," "Bonanza," and "Dr. Kildare." In films he appeared in "The Longest Day," "Inside Daisy Clover," and "The Andromeda Strain." After 1971, he stepped away from acting, later working as a producer, director, aviation photographer, and was a Ferrari enthusiast.
