Nancy Ann Ehnis, born May 28, 1937, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, to Ralph and Helen Leland, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018. Nancy resided in Whitmore Lake, spending 80 years on the Leland family farm. She married the love of her life, Karl Ehnis, 60 years ago on July 12, 1958, at the St. Joseph Village Church of Dexter, Michigan. Nancy earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Eastern Michigan University and taught Kindergarten for several years before deciding to stay home to raise her three children. In her free time, Nancy was a 4-H leader; she enjoyed quilting, collecting (Peter Rabbit and Bunnykin figurines), and had a passion for gardening. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. Nancy is survived by her husband, Karl Ehnis, and their children: Karl Jr. (June) Ehnis; Paul (Barbara) Ehnis; Jan (Timothy) Sparks; and her grandchildren: Rachel and Chad Ehnis; Kate (Elton) See and Amanda Ehnis; Emily, Bradley, and Jonathan Sparks; and her brother Robert (Marcia) Leland. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Helen Leland. Memorial contributions in honor of Nancy A. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, March 12, 2018, 2:30 pm, at St. Joseph Village Church, 7870 4th St., Dexter, MI 48130, with visitation starting at 1:30 pm.
