According to his Death Certificate, John was born about 1896 in Tennessee, the son of Eaf Davis and Novelia (Page) Davis, and he was the husband of Lulie ( -- ) Davis. A WPA worker living at 1114 Shanklin, Nashville, he was about 40 years old and a US Army veteran when he died of terminal uremia at Hubbard Hospital on March 18, 1937. Burial was two days later in Nashville National Cemetery.
