Benjamin was born in Georgia, Franklin County Vermont. He was the son of Rev. Alvah Sabin and Anna Mears. Benjamin married Anna Almira Loomis (From Georgia, Franklin County Vermont) in November 6, 1843. Sometime after 1852 he moved to Sycamore, IL where he was a farmer and owned many acres of farmland at the east edge of Sycamore, IL (both North and South Side of the roads) along State Street. The Sycamore Park District is now located on the South side of State Street. He had a daughter, Ida Sabin (1849-1852) who died at the age of 3 and she is buried at Great Plains Cemetery in Franklin County, Vermont. Benjamin's father, Rev. Alvah Sabin, is also buried at Georgia Plains Cemetery.
