B., near Thrush, aged 85 years. born May 1818 in Lincoln county, Ky. He was the fourth son of Peyton and Rebecca Parks and the last survivor of eight children. He came to Missouri in 1837; married Lourinda J. Lee in 1840 and came to Henry county the same year, settling on a farm south of Coal. He and brother-in-law, A. J. Lee, built a store and laid out the town of Leesville, selling goods hauled in wagons from Boonville. In his latter years, he became afflicted with cancer, which he had removed three times. Five children are left to mourn the loss of a kind father, four having passed to the Great Beyond. The funeral was held under auspices of the Masonic fraternity and his remains interred in the Calhoun cemetery, by the side of his wife who died in December 1893.
