A visitation for friends will be held Tuesday, January 18, 3 pm to 9 pm at John Ireland Funeral Home, 120 S. Broadway, Moore, OK, and graveside services will be at the Carney Cemetery, Carney, OK, Tuesday, January 19 at 1 p.m.
After serving time as a Merchant Marine, Don married his childhood sweetheart, Leoma Nation (Johnnie), and they had one daughter, Donna. Unfortunately, they were so young, and the marriage didn't last, but they still remained friends.
In 1948, Don married Mary Leona Stowers (Leona) from the Chandler, Oklahoma area. They had two children, Mary Lee and Sherri Lynne. Leona fell asleep in death in 1992. She was a very loving and supportive wife who worked along side of Don in all of his endeavors.
Don is survived by his sister, Faye Peel, of Winton California daughters Donna Totten of Savannah, Georgia, Sherri L. McKinney of Newcastle, Oklahoma, Mary Van Ostrand of Wimberley, Texas and Dawn Summers of Midwest City, Oklahoma.
Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel.
