DELTON MAXWELL ALLEN (Age 58) Of Piedmont, WV, residing in Silver Spring, MD peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Washington Adventist Hospital in Takoma Park, MD after a courageous battle with cancer. Delton graduated in 1968 from Piedmont High School,Piedmont, WV. He later went on to receive his Associates degree in Business Development from Strayer University in Washington, DC. Delton joined the U.S. Peace Corps in 1980 and lived in Lesotho, South Africa for 15 years, working as an International Community Organizer. He later returned and worked for the Washington Post Newspaper for over 11 years where he received numerous awards of merit for his achievements. Most recently he was working for Gannett Healthcare Group in Falls Church, VA. Delton made his peace with God on January 14, 2009 and was prepared when God called him to come home. He leaves a legacy of love, compassion, courage and laughter for us to cherish.
