Daughter of the late Walter Jasper Haddock and Annie Tuten, she was a graduate of Bath High School. She married Charlie Zachary Boyd who preceded her in death on January 14, 1999. She was a member of the 15th Street Church of God. She was survived by one son, Charles Boyd and his wife Charlene; one daughter, Sylvia Gurganus and her husband Stanley; one sister, Shirley Jones and her husband Jesse; five grandchildren, Stan Gurganus, Steven Gurganus, Richard Boyd, Carrie Boyd and Derick Boyd; nine great-grandchildren; and special caregiver, Evelyn Blount. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Belva Simmons. Her funeral was held March 20, 2009, at the 15th Street Church of God with Pastor Thomas Lee and Dennis Davis officiating.
