Ernstina Wilhelmine "Minnie" Friedrike Rakow, born on 20 January 1834, at Schönwalde in Hinter Pomerania, Prussia and died on 25 October 1882, in Silver Creek Township near Ponca in Dixon County, Nebraska. German records spell her first name as Ernestine instead. Ernstina, who was nicknamed "Minnie," was the daughter of Ernest and Dorothea Sophie (née Westphal) Rakow. She married on 7 February 1859, in Evangelical [Lutheran] Church in Schönwalde to Christian Friedrich Gottfried [von] Kamrath. They immigrated to the U.S. aboard the SS Teutonia and arrived in New York on 10 May 1867. They made their way to Nebraska where other members of the Rakow family had previously homesteaded and settled themselves in Silver Creek Township near Ponca, Dixon County, Nebraska where she had kin who had previously settled. She was the mother of the following children:

Ernestine Wilhelmine Friedrike [von] Kamrath (1859-1859) who died in Germany,

August Johann Friedrich [von] Kamrath (1861-1877),

Bertha "Berttie" Wilhelmine Louise [von] Kamrath (1863-1887), Ernstene "Tena" Johanna Friedrike [von] Kamrath (1866-1917),

Mary "Nellie" (also nicknamed "Tiny") Kamrath (1869-1889),

Emma Katharine (née Kamrath) Bolton (1872-1946), and

Wilhelm "William" Christian Kamrath (1880-1961).
