Thomas C. Patrick
Was born in Floyd County, Kentucky, feb. 25, 1824. and was a son of Reuben and Charlotte (Wilson) Patrick, deceased. He was married first, April 19, 1844, in this county to Rebecca Patrick, who was born April 21, 1829, and she passed to a higher life April 30, 1857, five children were the issue of this union,
Reuben dec., John, Jefferson, dec., Eperson, and Wesley. He was again married in Magoffin County, Kentucky, Dec. 10, 1857, to Elizabeth Flint who was born Aug. 1, 1834 in Lee County, Virginia. Her father, John Flint, was born in Virginia, and died in Magoffin County, Kentucky, July 4, 1897 aged 87 years. Her mother, Fada (McFarland) is also dec. Four children constitute this family, Leander, Amanda, Rebecca, and Fada. Comrade Patrick eas engagged in farming President Linclon, issued a call for volunteers to defend the Union. He was enrolled from Louisa, KY., Nov. 20, 1861, as a private in
CO I 14th KY V. I. 1st brig. , 2nd Div. 23d A. C. He was struk on the back by a piece of shell at Kenesaw Mt. GA. June 22, 1864, which tore the left side of his face off. He sacrificed his life on the alter of hus country at that battle, having been a noble soldier. His grandfathers served in the war of 1812. His wife has two brothers in action, Hiram and William. Mrs. Patrick became a Christian early in life, Uniting with the M. E. Church; she has a widows pension and her address is Salyersville KY.
