NOTE: All children listed after Joseph were children by Fredk's first wife Maria SHULTZ. George Washington CUPP was his first child with 2nd wife Susan SHAFER.

Fredk's birth month and day are from a hand-written family record compiled by son Jonas Parks CUPP. (Unfortunately, my copy was lost in a move...) Obviously this was NOT an original record, and from my own research in early PA baptismal records, I suspect Fredk was actually born in 1781 but switched birthdates with his older brother to appear older when courting Mary/Maria SHULTZ.

Also note that the birthdate of 8 Aug 1778 does NOT agree with the yr/mo/da age on the tombstone. I (and many others) have no explanation for this. However, contrary to some reports, Fredk DOES appear in the 1870 census of Adams Co IA. Enumerators weren't allowed to list deceased members of a household, so Fredk WAS alive at the time the census was taken.
