Goldman "Jim" Witt, 81, of Madisonville, died Friday, Aug. 7, 2009, at Woods Memorial Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Dean Witt Goodwin; four brothers; and two sisters. He was a member of Long Ridge Baptist Church, and served more than 23 years in the U.S. Air Force in the Korean and Vietnam wars.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Tom Joiner of Coker Creek; one son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Joni Witt of Texas; one sister and brother-in-Law, Velma and Wail Dalton of Coker Creek; two grandchildren, Sarah Harrod and Bettye Royal; and five great-grandchildren, Brooke, Dillon, Dakota Kaye, Tommy and Destiny.
Graveside services were 6 p.m. Sunday at Epperson Cemetery with the Rev. Carroll Hamilton and the Rev. Vernon Webb officiating.
Myers Funeral Home of Tellico Plains was in charge of arrangements.
