Theodore Ebert, aged 49 years, died 3:20 o’clock in the family home in Elwin Saturday afternoon of typhoid fever, following an illness of two weeks. He was a prominent farmer of South Wheatland township, and was widely known in the south part of the county. He was prominent in church affairs, being a trustee of the Methodist church in Elwin. He was born in Mascoutah, Ill., Dec. 7, 1860. He was united in marriage to Miss Clara Shively of Elwin, Sept. 23, 1886.
Besides his wife, he leaves two children, Cletus, aged 18 years, and Esther, aged 6 years. He also leaves his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lon Ebert of Stonington, three brothers and seven sisters. They are, John Ebert and Edward Ebert of Stonington; Joseph Ebert of Kansas City, Kan.; Mrs. C. O. Young of Decatur; Mrs. Fred Armstrong, of Blue Mound; Mrs. John Smith of Taylorville; Mrs. Fred Tarrant of Owaneco; Mrs. Joseph Grohs, of Mascoutah; Mrs. Ralph Hirsch of St. Louis; and Miss Marie Ebert of Stonington. No funeral arrangements have yet been made.
