Funeral services for Mrs John Dixon were held Tuesday morning January 7th at 4 o'clock in Galvez and interment was in Mt. Zion cemetery. Mrs. Dixon was only 27 years of age, passed away at the Baton Rouge General Hospital after an illness extending over a period of Several months. A wide circle of friends throughout this section survives Mrs. Dixon and join her family in mourning her loss. She leaves her husband, Johnnie Dixon, of Galvez, eight children, Dorothy, Doval, Ruth, Evone, Charlene, Fay and Ray Dixon, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Courtney of Galvez, five sisters, Mrs. Emma Gautreau, Misses Bertha, Vivian, Ethel and Effie Courtney all of Gonzales, two brothers, Cleveland and Cecil Courtney of Galvez.

Following the illness of a few days, little Ray Dixon passed away at the home of his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Courtney. Funeral services were conducted by L.P. St. Amant in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. Beside his mother who passed away January 7, 1930, Little Ray, who was only ten months old leaves his father Mr. Johnny Dixon, four sisters, Dorothy, Ruth, Evone and his little twin sister Fay, also three brothers, Doval, E--lie, and Charles all of Galvez.
