Church of Christ Dodsonville
Bro B F Cates and Bro Moses Robert Burk founded the BitterCreek, Oklahoma congregation in 1901 or 1902. These brethren had moved to BitterCreek from Arkansas, having started congregations there. The church grew rapidly and in 1910, just west of BitterCreek across the Texas line, the town of Dodsonville was just getting started. This growing congregation had been meeting in the BitterCreek, Oklahoma school building. These brethren, together with other Christians in the area, united and decided to move the congregation to the town of Dodsonville. They bought lots in December 1910 and built their first church house in the spring of 1911, about Easter.
