Ole attended Lane Tech College Prep High School (Chicago, IL) before enrolling at Illinois Institute of Technology where he was a brother of the Illinois Beta chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon (SigEp) and graduated in 1950. In early 1969, Ole was appointed to lead the Individual Reserve Management Division of then-Office of Air Force Reserve (AFTOR).
